Life is a journey that we all have to walk

I once knew a kid that cried every time when he heard that he was growing up. ‘I don’t want to grow up. I want to be a kid forever!’ He constantly cried. He is right. Evolving is something that is painful, and it is something that I hate to do. Because of my aversion to changes, I am eager to accept any challenge ahead. In my daily job, they give you the opportunity to evolve and try something new within the company. This is my reflection on those changes.

I am always reentering my old job, after spending some time helping another department. I take that as a way of evolving, learning something new, and become someone better. It is nice to get a new way of seeing things. Our upgraded vision is one of the best characteristics that helping others have. Even if most of the time, you went there and did not gain a raise or any compensation. Experience is compensation, is it?

I am, again, in a new function and doing new things. I’m here since 2017, and soon I have to go back to the old days. It’s not the first time, and perhaps it will not be the last. I remember the feeling just like the one that I’ve had on the first day of school. We all know what we will do — study — but we are always a little anxious about the changes.

People tend to think that you are more arrogant, or you have fallen for a better job. Your colleagues change the way they see you, even try to keep you away from them. Just like a dangerous species, you have to understand that perceptions and conceptions will be in those heads. You have a new vision, but they don’t. We are all there to be paid, and they think that you had fallen because you didn’t meet the needs. Of course, there are exceptions. Some of your colleagues were missing you, and they wanted to see more of you around.

Most of them don’t like to embrace people that were temporarily in a ‘better position’, so they say. They think you have to stay the same, and we evolve differently from them so, they are eager to see that as a flaw.

You don’t have to be ashamed to have the capacity to help your company in any need they have. Use your professionalism, see the good characteristics of that experience, and use it to become a better person. None of us is better. We all are the same. People evolving from one stage to the other.

Even your old career evolves, and you forget some stuff too. It’s like a new job with some similar traces from the past. Sometimes you can give suggestions that will help to improve the tasks, check with your manager if you can help them with that idea.

We live in constant evolution. Most of us evolve every day without even noticing. Can we evolve by doing good deeds and be more tolerant?

We all have problems and difficulties each step of our lives, let’s help out by seeing it as a half-full glass!
